In the early hours of April 30, police and paramedics were called to a restaurant in Kennedy Road and Sandalwood Parkway, where one person was allegedly shot.
When they arrived, they found 30-year-old Ricardo Brian with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a trauma center, where he died days later.
On Wednesday, police announced that a suspect had been arrested this week. Carl Anthony Khan, 26, of Mississauga, was said to have been charged with first-degree murder.
He was remanded in custody and appeared in Brampton Court on Wednesday.
“Gun violence is an unfortunate reality that has a devastating effect on our communities. Our service is committed to preventing these results. “When this is not possible, we are equally committed to holding those responsible accountable for the damage caused by their actions,” Peel Deputy Chief of Police Nick Milinovic said in a press release announcing Khan’s arrest.
