Greg Nas | Reuters Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the US government’s pandemic effort, has tested positive for the coronavirus. Fauci, who has been fully vaccinated and twice augmented against Covid, is showing mild symptoms, according to a statement issued Wednesday by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which he leads. “Dr Fauci will be isolated and will continue to work from home,” the statement said. “He has not been in close contact with the President recently [Joe] “Biden or other senior government officials.” In addition to being the director of NIAID, which is part of the National Institutes of Health, Fauci is also Biden’s chief medical adviser. The NIAID said in a statement that Fauci would follow the instructions for Covid-19 issued by the Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and “seek medical advice from his doctor and return to the NIH when a negative test is performed.” This is breaking news.
