The White House said Biden spoke with Zelensky for about 40 minutes about the details of the latest security package. The aid package, which comes as Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin meets with NATO allies, is the 12th tranche of US military aid to Ukraine since the start of the war. “We are working tirelessly to meet Ukraine’s demands for new capabilities, especially its need for large-scale fire, armor and coastal defense,” Austin told NATO defense ministers. “We are providing Ukrainian HIMARS defenders with multi-launcher missile systems and this will significantly enhance Ukraine’s capabilities,” he added, along with Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov.
