Currently, Environment Canada has issued a strong storm warning for Toronto, Halton-Peel and York-Durham.
According to Environment Canada, these three areas see favorable conditions for the development of heavy storms, including heavy hail and heavy local rainfall.
This line of strong thunderstorms, moving southeast at 50 miles per hour, stretches from Aurora to Sandhill. Affected sites include: Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, King City, Woodbridge, Wildfield, Malton, Kleinburg, Maple, Concord, Oak Ridges, Thornhill, Gormley and Unionville.
“Heavy hail can damage property and cause injury. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. “Remember, when it thunders, go indoors!” Said the Canadian Meteorological Agency.
The Office of the Marshal of the Fire Brigade and the Emergency Command urges people to be covered immediately if threatening weather conditions approach.
