A Florida man faces charges after he accidentally gave police surveillance footage that showed him dragging the body of a woman through his home before tossing her in a ditch. William Redden, 51, allegedly wrapped the body of 38-year-old Stephanie Shenefield in a sheet before hauling her to his car and driving to a ditch where he dumped her remains, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. Her “badly decomposed” body was discovered by passersby walking their dogs last Thursday. Shenefield was reported missing by her mother after she hadn’t heard from her for several days and no one could reach her, WTSP reported.

We apologize, but this video has failed to load. Detectives access her computer and determined she ordered an Uber to take her to alleged drug dealer Redden’s home in the early morning hours of June 3, Manatee County Sheriff Rick Wells said. “(Redden) verifies that Stephanie was there on that Friday,” Wells said in a news conference. “He tells them that they hung out for a while and that Stephanie left the residence that next morning.” Deputies searched Redden’s home and found cameras inside and outside the property. Redden told police the cameras inside don’t work so he reportedly gave law enforcement access to look through all the footage. “He tells them that (the cameras) do not record inside of the residence,” Wells said. “He was wrong.” We apologize, but this video has failed to load. The video showed Redden dragging Shenefield’s lifeless boy in a wrapped sheet, through his house, then loaded her into his car.

The cause of death is still unknown at this time. However, at some point in the night, Shenefield died inside the house and instead of calling for help, Redden allegedly disposed of her body. “William Redden does nothing about it,” the sheriff said. “He doesn’t call 911, he doesn’t call authorities, he doesn’t call anyone.” Redden, an eight-time convicted felon, faces charges of abuse of a corpse, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of an altered firearm, according to Wells. “William Redden is a piece of crap, that’s what he is.”
