Guthrie challenged Herd for her own actions in the relationship and she admitted that she did and said “horrible, sad things”, but said that “she always told the truth”. Depp sued Herd for $ 50 million for hinting that he abused her in a Washington Post article. A $ 100 million rebellion ensued, accusing him of waging a “slander campaign” against her.
