The 8-year-old girl has not appeared for two and a half years. New Hampshire authorities, including Manchester police, Hillsborough County sheriffs and the FBI’s New Hampshire office, spent hours retrieving evidence from an apartment at Union 644. The street reopened around 10 p.m. the end of the search for the evening. Among dozens of viewers on Tuesday, Regina Carr watched the search and waited for updates. Carr has been publishing leaflets and conducting searches for Harmony in recent months. “We all want the closure. “I do not think this is the closure we are hoping for, but we want the closure,” said Carr, her heart pounding as she watched researchers remove possible evidence. “The fact that they did not find Harmony here keeps hope alive, it means we can continue to look for her.” Around noon, investigators left the apartment building, loading a refrigerator and other items, including wooden planks, into a truck. New investigation into the Harmony Montgomery case is expected to begin overnight The items will be moved to another location for further analysis. Harmony’s father, Adam Montgomery, and his then-wife, Kayla Montgomery, once lived in the apartment. A major Hillsborough county court indicted Adam Montgomery, 30, in March on a felony count of second-degree assault, alleging he hit Harmony in the face in July 2019. Kayla Montgomery, 31, has been charged by a grand jury with fraudulent theft, claiming she told New Hampshire Department of Health staff that Harmony was a member of her household from November 2019 until June 2, 2021, and that received food voucher benefits for Harmony. Kayla was also arrested earlier this month on a charge of forgery. Both pleaded not guilty and told police Harmony was living with her mother in Massachusetts. Adam is currently in custody, while Kayla is in custody. Sources say that neither Adam nor Kayla Montgomery are cooperating in the efforts to find Harmony. (Manchester Police Department) The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office is leading the Harmony Montgomery investigation. The office will not say what prompted police to investigate Union Street. However, a source tells me that the site was researched due to new research data that was recently developed. It does not appear that anyone close to Harmony Montgomery has changed course and is now working with researchers. Harmony Montgomery disappeared sometime in November or December 2019. It is unclear if she ever lived on Union Street with Adam and Kayla. In January, the FBI helped NH investigators search for a house on Gilford Street where Harmony lived with her father and stepmother. Not found. As police spend hours searching Union Street, Harmony’s mother, Crystal Sorey, told Boston 25 News, “It’s rough. I know in my heart that this is no longer a rescue mission. They are looking for a body “. Late Tuesday afternoon, employees of the Manchester Public Works Department opened a manhole cover near the Union Street apartment building and threw a camera into the pipes down the street in search of evidence. As of 6 p.m., Harmony Montgomery had not been found and the search was expected to continue through the night. Anyone with information about Harmony’s disappearance can call or message a 24-hour advice line at 603-203-6060.
