The incidents took place in the Leslieville and Port Lands districts within a few hours on Monday.
Police say that in the first incident a victim stopped his car in the area and left the door open as he stood nearby. Police claim that a suspect ran into the car and got into the driver’s seat. He then pointed a pistol at his waist and threatened the victim before leaving in a stolen car, police said.
The second incident happened just a few hours later.
Police say two people were involved in some sort of rage and at some point they both got out of their cars and started arguing.
At the same time, the suspect for the first incident was passing by the stolen car and stopped nearby.
Police claim he left the stolen vehicle and forced his way into one of the stopped cars before leaving with the newly stolen vehicle, losing the two people on the road.
Police say uniformed officers from the 51st Division “responded quickly” after the second alleged car robbery and were able to locate the suspect circulating in the area.
The car eventually stopped in a parking lot and police managed to arrest him after a brief chase, police say.
