William McPhee has applied to run for Ward 1. Martin Poirer is running Ward 5. Minimal information for each candidate was available at the time of writing. However, SooToday was able to confirm that the alleged William McPhee is not William McPhee from Wishart Law Firm, who serves as the Legal Approach Director for the Outreach Youth North and Aboriginal Youth Program. Following the publication of the original version of this article, we also learned that Martin Poirer has served on the city’s property review committee. The elections will take place on October 24.
