Madison Earhard UPDATE 4:30 p.m. The Kelowna RCMP tells Castanet that it received a report of a possible missing person in the Mission Creek area on Tuesday afternoon. The RCMP is in the preliminary stages of the investigation and is in the process of confirming more details. “With great care, COSAR and RCMP Air Services were activated and assisted in the investigation of the area,” said RCMP spokesman Cpl. Tammy Lobb. Duane Tresnich, director of COSAR, told Castanet that they had received information that a person had parked his vehicle in the area and was known to be walking along the creek and that he had not been informed. A drone and a helicopter have been developed to continue the research. Castanet will have more details as soon as they become available. Search and rescue teams have gathered at Pasadena Rd. in the Rutland area of Kelowna and are said to be looking for someone who may have been swept away by the fast moving waters. Rescue crews install a drone in an effort that appears to be an attempt to launch an aerial search. Castanet has a reporter on stage and we will update this story as more information becomes available. The RCMP told Madison Erhardt, our scene reporter, that they had received a report that a person may have been dragged into the creek and were investigating the entire area. This is a story that is evolving and we will update when more information becomes available.
