Deputies were summoned to the San Lorenzo Library on Saturday afternoon after five men allegedly broke into preschool reading during Pride Month, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office said. “The men have been described as members of the Proud Boys, which is known to be a right-wing hate group with links to LGBTQs,” the sheriff’s office said. “Men have been described as extremely aggressive with a threatening violent behavior that causes people to fear for their safety.” Local drag queen Panda Dulce, who hosted the event, claimed that the men shouted “tranny” and “pedophile” as they interrupted the event. No arrests have been made and no one has been injured, but sheriff officials are investigating the incident as a possible hate crime and child molestation. Some children and their parents were at the event when the ordeal unfolded, authorities said. The San Francisco incident happened the same day a group of 31 men with ties to a white nationalist hate group were arrested near an LGBTQ Pride event in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Police said the men, who belonged to the Patriot Front, had riot gear and were seen loading people into a U-Haul in a hotel car park.
