Six people were on board when it capsized on Lake Roadford, near Okehampton, last Wednesday, with four of them rescued from the water. However, two people with disabilities were missing and their bodies were found the next day by police after an extensive investigation. Police have now officially identified the victims as 43-year-old Alex Wood and 63-year-old Allison Tilsley, known as Ali. Both were from the West Devon area and their relatives have been informed. In a statement, Mrs Tilsley’s family paid tribute to “their kind, loving and caring daughter, sister and aunt”. “We are utterly devastated by the loss of our beautiful Ali,” they said. “She will miss her sunny nature, her positivity, her fantastic sense of humor and her skill in words. “Our hearts are broken forever, but the messages of love and support we have received are of great comfort.”
