Google says the displayed toll billing is based on “trusted information from local toll authorities” and takes toll cards and time of day into account when calculating total costs. There is also an alternation to “avoid tolls” when calculating routes. Google Maps has previously been able to tell you when total tolls are paid on a trip, but not to calculate what those tolls might be.

According to Google, the feature is available for “almost 2000” toll roads in the US, India, Japan and Indonesia for iOS and Android applications. He says he plans to add support to more countries “soon”.
