Illinois lawmaker Sean Casten announced the death of the teenage daughter in a statement Monday. The Casten congressional office said 17-year-old Gwen Kasten died Monday morning, but gave no further details on her death. MP Sean Casten represents the 6th District of Illinois. (House of Representatives) The statement described Gwen as Casten’s “beloved daughter” and said the family was seeking privacy during this “heartbreaking moment”. Police in Downers Grove, Illinois, said they were called to Casten House around 6:48 p.m. for a 17-year-old woman who did not respond and found she was dead. Sean’s daughter will vote in her first election and was able to sign the petition for her dad.” Casten is seeking a third term in Congress in the recently redesigned 6th District of Illinois. MP Marie Newman is running for the same seat in the upcoming elections. Her campaign announced the death of Casten’s daughter.
