There are currently less than 1,000 West Penn Power customers without electricity. 4:45 a.m. UPDATE: Expect an irregular ride from time to time to start the day on Tuesday, especially from Pittsburgh and the south. A few more rounds of rain and thunderstorms will roll in the area during the morning commute. Some severe thunderstorms with gusts of 55+ mph are possible and repeated rounds of heavy rainfall could lead to local flooding. The rains and thunderstorms will stop until noon with the clouds falling late this afternoon. 2:05 a.m. UPDATE: The first round of thunderstorms hit Washington and Southern Allegheny counties around 1:30 a.m., with lightning and strong winds. More thunderstorms are expected in the area during the morning commute and could affect Pittsburgh. The National Meteorological Service issued a Severe Storm Observation for much of the area until 6 a.m. Tuesday. Stay tuned to Severe Weather Team 11 for updates on our news and weather apps. OVERVIEW:
A powerful series of storms is now forming and moving northwest Ohio, about 300 miles away. At the moment, it is moving A / ANA with a speed of 40-50 mph, with winds now at 60-70 mph.
