West Yorkshire police say a truck driving on the wrong side of the highway was involved in a head-on collision with a taxi around 10:45 p.m. Monday night. Two other people were seriously injured in the collision. Police say the van failed to stop for a marked road police unit and then went off the wrong side on the M606 heading south from the Chain Bar roundabout to Bradford, where it was involved in the collision. A spokesman for the force said: “There are five victims in total from both vehicles, three of whom were seriously injured. The M606 is currently closed in both directions, while emergency services are responding to the incident. The IOPC has been notified of the incident (PA Wire) “The scenery and the closed roads are expected to remain in force for a significant period of time, with the National Roads warning that the road is unlikely to reopen until after noon. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and look for alternative routes. “ West Yorkshire Police added that the police, the Independent Police Behavior Office, was informed of the incident after a police vehicle was involved in the circumstances that led to the collision. An air ambulance arrived at the scene shortly before midnight and the Highways warn that the road is likely to be closed at least until noon. Drivers are called upon to find alternative routes as emergency services deal with the incident.
